Hen-do

There are lots of fun beauty related things you can do at a hen do. Pampering the bride-to-be will give her a memorable day and get her beauty regime started early. So if you are the one in charge of the hen do, here are some top ideas to help you out:

Visit a Spa

There are a whole host of fun things to do at a spa, not only can you relax in thermal waters but if you book out a private spa, some will even serve you champagne in the pools – just what the girls need to get them in the party mood!

Many spas also have saunas and steam rooms which are a great way to unwind while detoxing your pores.

Treatment room at spas are real havens of serenity offering luxurious treatments from facials to back massages and deep exfoliation; but remember to book in advance for these especially if the whole hen party want something done at the same time!

After your treatments, you can also visit the spa restaurant for a snack and drink to revive you before you head off for your next hen do treat.

Spas can be found in most big towns and cities, while some are small and intimate and usually part of hotels, others are larger independent establishments.

Get a Manicure or Pedicure

Visit a beauty salon or in-store manicure parlour and get those hands or feet prepared for your night out. Not only will the bride feel very pampered and beautified, but may get some inspiration for how she wants her nails painted on her wedding day.

Get a Makeover

Most in store beauty advisers offer free makeovers (which need booking in advance), so at your bride's favourite beauty counter, whether it be Estee Lauder or Chanel for example, why not book her in for a makeover? If there is just a small group of hens, and you choose a large makeup counter, more than one of you may be able to get your makeup done at the same time. You can also get makeovers done at beauty salons.

Alternatively, if you are having your hen do in your home town, you can book a freelance makeup artist to come to the bride's home to give her a makeup lesson or makeover. Visit our makeup artist directory

Having a makeover will give the bride some make-up tips and inspiration for the big day but also get her looking gorgeous for her night on the town.

Have a Beauty Party

If your bride and the hens fancy a girly night in, why not a host a beauty party such as a Body Shop Party? Not only can everyone enjoy snapping up some beautiful products including makeup, skincare and perfume, but have some fun pampering one another.

The Mad Hatter's Couture & Makeup Parties by award-winning hat maker Katherine Elizabeth Millinery and Benefit Cosmetics are also an innovative idea. Guests can create their own hats whilst sipping cocktails and eating sweet treats, then enjoy a makeover from a Benefit Cosmetics makeup artist to get the perfect look to compliment their creation. She may even want to test out having a fake tan for her wedding day. So go on, get all the hens to treat her (and themselves)!

Go Beauty Shopping

If the bride is doing her own wedding makeup, or wants to buy some skincare of beauty products to use in the weeks leading up to and on the day, going beauty shopping can be a fun girly way to spend some of the hen do day time.  This would also be a great opportunity for her to choose her bridal fragrance with all her hens there to offer advice on which perfume best suits her. With all the necessary products purchased, the bride will certainly glow on her big day.
