Clinique High Lengths Mascara

Introduction

Clinique has been a beautiful and trusted brand for years. So I decided to take a risk and switch from my old faithful mascara (Chanel Inimitable Intense) to Clinique's High Lengths Mascara, to see if it could transform my short stubbly lashes into luxurious princess-like ones.

Trial

The thing I found difficult about this product was the application brush itself. It is thin, made from rubber and is curled. I found it tricky to get all of my lashes coated in mascara. If I missed some lashes I had to coat them all again, so they ended up looking spidery - not the look I was intending! Due to the shape of the brush it was tricky to get to the lashes in the inner and outer corners of my eye. I also found the brush itself didn't actually contain much mascara from the tube. I did persevere with it for a couple of weeks, however, it did not get any easier to use and completely unimpressed me.

Packaging

The tube is a fresh clean white, I like the appearance of it. However, what really let's the product down is the application brush.

Price

I was really surprised at the price, Clinique sell all their mascaras for  £15. This would have been a bargain, if the mascara did what it claimed!

Verdict

High Lengths Mascara does not really do its name (or Clinique) justice. I was super excited to use this mascara, but was very disappointed with the results.

My lashes were not significantly longer by any means. In fact, my old mascara which didn't boast about lengthening was actually more effective. For the same  price (and lower) I have used high street branded mascaras that have been more successful.
